Why AI projects stall

Most AI projects never get past the demo.

Reasons it happens, and none of them are about the AI not being clever enough.

It could talk. It could not do anything.

The demo answered questions well. Nobody had worked out what it was allowed to change, who signs that off, or which system takes the update. So it stayed a demo.

It did not know your business.

A chat window on the front of a company whose real answers live in a CRM, a booking system and a shared drive it was never connected to. It sounds confident and it is guessing.

Nobody looked after it.
